"hang up his boots" - "drop out"
This is to formally notify my irrevocable decision to discontinue the sport at a competitive level, for personal reasons, and especially for my knee injury, riacutizzatosi recently after yet another clash of the game and that, to date, has not improved much over. I declare my willingness to pursue an activity outside of official duties that are related to the league or amateur tournaments. It would be extremely difficult for me, in fact, continue to play in these conditions. They are no longer willing to risk my health and I am more than convinced. I always keep in mind the fundamental element, the motivation, which remains at the base and at every level of any sporting success, the reason is undoubtedly the key to work every day, through which the athlete meets his needs, the positive stimuli, the interest and enjoyment, research affiliate for their fellow training and not least the need for affirmation and success. I now lack this motivation despite my great love for the sport as an opportunity for socialization and entertainment: they are dissatisfied with this aspect, and most likely the lack of time and school work have led me to this second abandonment of the reasons that I, personally, constitute a just cause.
A special thanks to all of you who are reading this letter because you have shared if you are doing, talking about sporting moments of joy and sadness with me.
I will be your biggest fan, do not disappear
